What this is

Under the federal WARN Act and Indiana's own rules, an employer must give notice before closing a site where 50 or more people lose their jobs. The Indiana Department of Workforce Development publishes those notices. This site lists the notices it marks as closures, received since January 2019, that affect 50 workers or more — with the employer, the city, the number of workers affected and the dates.

Who uses it

What it is not

Not the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, not the employer. A WARN closure is the closure of one site, not always of the whole business: many employers keep operating elsewhere, and some closures are delayed or cancelled after the notice. The number of workers is the employer's own estimate in the notice. Being listed here does not mean a company has stopped operating.
